7. I wish they would pose the question differently regarding blackouts.

Some people can drink in excess, remember the night before and even drive (though that would be seriously dangerous).
I knew people like this and I drank a few times to that degree.
I didn't forget but I did throw up at times or had to go to bed. Sounds to me like he was a bad binge drinker.

My inhibitions were down but luckily I wasn't in any situation where I would get taken advantage of but with that said, I did not drive while in that state. I knew better.
I shouldn't have talked on the phone (drunk dialing) and I definitely know that I watched a movie or two where I had pretty much forgotten that I had seen it later on down the road.

In other words, he could be telling the truth to that particular question about drinking to the point of blacking out so someone should instead ask, did you ever drink to the point of becoming impaired like slurring your words, stumbling, vomiting or getting a hangover?
Did you drive under the influence? Did anyone ever have to tell you what you did the night before while you were drunk?
