126. This is exactly what the Republicans want to hear...

An influential liberal telling liberals it doesn't matter how hard you work, how much time you invest, nothing you do is going to change the fact Romney will win - it's set in stone. This is exactly what Republicans are banking on ... a dispirited, defeatist base that's decided there is no point in voting because Obama is done.

Fuck Moore. Moore is being dangerous with his baseless opinion and setting up liberals to fail. The defeatism on the left is way more concerning than the overconfidence. I'm afraid so many liberals are quick to say Obama will lose because they want, when it's all said and done, to point to that loss and say, "see, told you so!"

Let's be honest, Mr. Moore has no dog in this race. He doesn't give a rat's ass if Obama wins or Romney wins. He's rich...his child is rich...he doesn't have to worry about being sent off to war and he doesn't have to worry about his child losing good healthcare. He doesn't have to worry about a gutted economy putting him in the poor house and he certainly doesn't have to worry about having his rights, either as a woman, or a gay person, taken away.

Moore is in it for himself. He was in it for himself in 2000 and he's in it for himself now. That's the only way I could explain his comment. And this isn't even a warning comment to tell us we need to work harder ... he's outright conceding this fucking thing. That isn't going to make people work harder or get liberals to the polls...it's going to make them sit home come November.

It's sad that Moore has to do damage like this. What's worse is I see it here on DU all the time. Better give up, because Romney will probably win! He'll either buy the election or steal it! So, what's the point of voting if it's already in the bag?

And that's what Republicans are counting on. Way to give them a new talking point, Michael.

"Hey, even Michael Moore doesn't believe Obama can win!"
