(2,491 posts)Now that we understand exactly how foreign "active measures" work, we should be suspicious of any self-harming sideshow such as this.
However you feel about the potential effectiveness of this proposed boycott, the real issue is its opportunity cost. Every ounce of energy and thought spent on anything other than the task of changing the makeup of the power-centers in 29 days, comes at a price. Boycotting Maine should be judged by its potential return, as compared to the potential return of using those resources to change the makeup of Congress.
Because the average IQ on this board is such that this information is not exactly news to anyone, the only other option I can think of is that this is a tactical distraction by a hostile actor.
Its like a seagull just stole our only fish, leaving us to starve. But instead of going to class to learn how to catch more fish, we are using our last precious moments to try to catch and punish the seagull.
