(6,148 posts)I felt this way in 2016. I will feel this way in 2020. There are otherwise sensible people in America who cannot get past their prejudices and vote for a non-white non-male candidate. To think otherwise is to ignore the reality of America. As Avenatti says, it is unfortunate that this is how it is, but it's real.
50% of Trump supporters are women. What does that tell you about white women and Hillary? If there's no loyalty, it's just not going to work.
I don't know what kind of fantasy world folks live in. We had one black president, and there are some americans who are going to make sure it never happens again.
Maybe the folks on DU would vote for a non-white, non-male candidate. But DU does not mirror America. And the sooner the Democratic party figures that out, the better.
