26% of the iP4 including the DRAM, the Flash and the A5 processor are all Samsung parts. They have a finger in just about every pie, the only other company I can think of off the top of my head that has the resources to build a phone in-house is LG...and after a bit of searching, Sammy makes the Snapdragon processors for them as well.

I'm not going to say it's impossible to avoid them but you'll have to do some serious hunting.
