How the authors of the article interpreted that to mean there will be a fight if Dems win control of the House is beyond me.

Further in the article:

""I do not expect there to be any change in the number one and number two spots," Clyburn said, referring to Pelosi and Hoyer. "I will pursue the number three spot which I held before." Clyburn served as House majority whip from 2006 to 2010."

Edit: Once you skip over the headline and most of the first three paragraphs, the article is interesting and informative.
