Had to crack two CDs early for home repairs in 2018.

The withdrawal penalty was forfeiting a year's worth of interest.

This type of penalty used to be easy enough to write off. However, now it is considered taxable income! You need to file some other form actually write it off. I let it go as TurboTax wanted another $25 for a different edition.

It was not worth it to file the other form as the penalty was not that big. If it was big, I be beyond pissed!

I never suspected we'd get a refund, never!

Needless to say I won't be buying any more CDs! No $ left for such things anyway!

& recommend!!
