Chicago detectives are 'eager to speak to Jussie Smollett' after new information emerges following interrogations

Chicago police are "eager to speak to Jussie Smollett" after new information emerged following the interrogation of two brothers in the investigation into the alleged attack of the "Empire" star.

"We have been in touch with Smollett's attorneys," said Chicago Police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi told ABC News.

Guglielmi said the department contacted the actor's lawyers Friday night. "We made our intentions clear," he said.

Early Saturday, after two men were released after being arrested and interrogated, police said they had new information that “could change the story entirely.”
