Ergo: it doesn't matter whether crimes were found by the Special Counsel; what matters is that there were no known crimes at the time the Special Counsel was appointed.

I don't think there's a legal basis for that sort of argument. It's like saying the police have to have evidence of a crime before searching your car. That's not the law. The law is that there has to be "good cause" for the search.

I wonder.....
