8. There's "legal precedent" everywhere for what congress is demanding

The IRS, for example, "shall" provide tax returns to a congressional committee when requested. That's codified, but they're not doing it. And that's just one of many examples. The fact is that none of the democratic congressional committee heads has a clue or else they don't really care. Our system of government is hopelessly broken. The house has no real power, apparently. If anyone claims it does, it's meaningless if they never exercise it.
