Netanyahu chooses site in Golan Heights to be named after Trump [View all]

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says he has chosen a site in the Golan Heights to be named after President Trump.

Bloomberg reports a location has been identified by Netanyahu and he will ask the cabinet to approve it in the coming weeks.

The name for the new town has yet to be announced. The town will be named after Trump to honor him for officially recognizing Israeli control over the long-disputed territory between Israel and Syria.

Trump made the announcement in March, giving Israel a major victory in the region and angering neighboring Syria.
