In reply to the discussion: 'Serving under Trump is embarrassing': Fifth Republican congressman retires in just two weeks as GOP [View all]ancianita
(43,309 posts)60. Of the 22 Repubs running, only five have one Dem opponent. The rest are 3 or more Dems, thus will
likely divide up the vote so the Repubs retain their seats. At least that's how it looks.
LA's Repub senator is running unopposed, which doesn't look good for LA Dems or the national party.
Looks like the country is pretty hardened around its senators, almost no Dems are likely to lose. And no Repubs are, except in the "Lean" and "Likely" categories. But multiple Dem opponents, along with the way gerrymandering and vote suppression go in those states, the Repub incumbent is all the more likely to squeak through.
But I don't understand how the party is working for Democratic senatorial candidates, though.
So I wish someone here would help us understand how the party is actually working on these campaigns.

Curious how many GOPers are willing to quit instead of holding the POS accountable.

If those with a shred of integrity leave, will that not self-select for a more racist GOP?
