We've been experimenting in our kitchen, and the closest we have come is marinating the chicken in pickle juice before coating it. I know it's probably six of one, half a dozen of the other, but next time we make AOTFNOTH (I call our recipe "all of the flavor, none of the hate"
I will try putting the pickle juice straight into the batter. Thanks for the suggestion!
