(2,227 posts)So I get cable, internet and phone through my cable. (Blue Ridge Cable, our ONLY option other than satellite, which won't work due to lack of line of sight.)
The internet is NOT the highest speed, which I thought it was, only to find out THAT was why shows I missed (included in my package) and tried to go back and watch on demand, constantly "buffered" and were unwatchable... I refused to up the speed, so if I missed it, I missed it. Too fucking bad for me.
My one vice is my teevee. 75 inch Sony Bravia 4K.
Therefore I HAVE to receive high definition, which means you have to accept EVERYTHING beneath it, because it is tiered, and you start with basic. I don't have extra sports (I like Olympic sports, but that is about it), I don't have extra Spanish channels (me no habla), and if allowed I would drop EVERY Fox channel. Out of the 100s of channels, we watch about 20.
I WAS happy to see Mrs. Maisel (HBO) won, and Rupaul (high def on VH1) won. I was unfamiliar with ALL the others.
I DO have a LOT of blu-ray movies, but once I have watched a movie, it may be a few years until I watch it again. Sort of like re-reading a book I just read...
My total bill is $235 per month.
Yes, I see ads for all those cool shows on subscription services, but I'm maxed our for what I am willing to pay.
If I had all the add-ons, my bill would probably be $500 a month. (just an over the top guess, I have no idea how much they cost, individually.)
Not happenin'.
I am NOT going to disconnect completely. So I will just have to be content with bitching and complaining.
But I didn't watch it because it was on FOX. My precious teevee will NOT be defiled by Fox. Hell, I gave up The Simpsons years ago because they were a fox show.
I was devastated...
