Republicans in congress are only interested in shielding trump from impeachment. At this point I don't even understand why when they have full control of the senate and can make their noxious last stand there. Them seem not to have the least bit interest in actually governing, only blocking good government from happening. And they are successfully pulling it off. By American standards we currently have no federal government, what we are witnessing is entertainment only. I reject the charade.
