Graham launches probe of Bidens, Burisma and Ukraine

Look at it this way: they were going to do this to the Bidens no matter what. Trump was just a couple of days away from getting the Ukrainians to announce investigations which would have sent the media into speculation overdrive. Even if ultimately there was no “there” there — like Benghazi — the GOP would go into full bore smear mode, with the media playing along.

But now, that plan now completely blown up in their faces. A majority of the country thinks that Trump’s illegitimate attempt to investigate the Bidens was impeachable. In the minds of the public, the idea of an investigation into the Bidens is directly linked to wrong-doing on the part of Trump.

So Graham can have his investigation, but given everything that’s happened it’s going to be a lot harder now to convince the public that what he’s doing isn’t just another partisan smear job.
