many people seem to think that Russia is an actual democracy. since putin has taken control he has worked to eliminate the democratic process while making it still seem legitimate.
this is just another step in putin's plan to maintain power. after his presidential term is up, he will be installed as Prime minister with the extended powers.
of the resigning officials, i'm sure some did it from loyalty to the former kgb agent, but others undoubtedly did it from fear. the fear brings to light another facet of Russian "democracy".
putin will and has used murder to eliminate political foes. this is not how democracy works.
Russia is not a democracy, our president's hero, vlad putin is a dictator. perhaps not in the historical sense, but he is a new type of dictator. unfortunately, he is very smart and very vicious.
