(11,197 posts)Fact: He put Social Security on the bargaining table during budget negotiations back in 2011 following a closed door meeting with Boehner. ( http://nymag.com/daily/intel/2011/07/obama_puts_social_security_and.html )
As such it is logical to construe that Social Security is certainly not sacrosanct for Obama. My prediction, you will not hear Obama say "No Cuts" to ease your mind, as the plans for cuts, in some manner, have undoubtedly already been laid out.
This is not to say that I will not vote for Obama as what alternative do I, or any of us really, have? As long as we are only allowed to vote for 100% Wall Street certified candidates, we will have no say in what transpires at the top. Best advice, prepare yourself to cuts to public programs regardless of who is elected. The only option you have with your vote is to choose how fast you want these changes to take place.
