Is how our US press referred to him for so many years. As a child who was interested in government, it was always interesting to me how this guy was 'president' for so many years in a row without a term limit or other persons being elected instead.

It reminds me now of how donnie-t refers to 'chairman kim' 'president putin' etc. - whatever happened to good ole "N Korean dictator" and "Russian dictator?"
