He'll pivot from "nothing to see here" to "it's not my fault" to "look at how good the numbers are on this vaccine! USA! USA!"

Because he's a sociopath and lacks any kind of human empathy, he doesn't see dead people as a horrible tragedy. He only sees that as inconvenient from a PR perspective.
