The Obama era standards have been there for over 7 years as they were from his first term. During that time, the car manufactures have worked to develop cars that more than met the standard. At this point, when Trump is a LAME DUCK PRESIDENT, as Mitch McConnell should agree 
, do you think that manufacturers will change their plans? At this point, they likely could not change plans before January.
The election will keep this change up in the air. Another reason - of many - we need to win.
