President Obama may have a solid lead in Pennsylvania, and neither presidential campaigns is airing television advertisements in the state, but Mitt Romney thinks he could win it in November.

In Pennsylvania, Obama holds an 8-percentage point lead in the Real Clear Politics average of recent polls. In 2008, when both Obama and Republican nominee John McCain contested the state, Obama won 54 percent to 44 percent.

“You know, we really would shock people if early in the evening on Nov. 6 it looked like Pennsylvania was going to come our way and actually did come our way,” Romney said. “That could happen. That could happen.”

As Romney’s motorcade left his fundraiser at the Union League Club in downtown Philadelphia, several dozen protesters were singing, “Na na na na, na na na na, hey hey, good bye!”
