In reply to the discussion: Paul Ryan: 'It Would Take Me Too Long' To Explain Mitt Romney's Tax Plan [View all]olegramps
(8,200 posts)I am using persona, as defined by the Swiss psychologist Carl Jung. That it is the social face the individual presents to the world - "a kind of mask, designed on the one hand to make a definite impression upon others, and on the other to conceal the true nature of the individual."
Paul Ryan appears to be very charming, almost child like in his enthusiasm. Very much like a naive, yet a likable perpetual adolescent full of energy and boundless self confidence that he has a grasp on absolute truth. I can't help from wondering if this persona has taken over his entire being to the extent that his individuality has been suppressed. In the way he cocks his head and widely opens his eyes he appears to mimic Bambi. Very serious issues are brushed away with absolutes without any consideration of the complexities. For example in his absolute acceptance that abortion is wrong in very case without any regard to circumstances. His approach in absolutes who be like an judge sentencing a man to prison for stealing a loaf of bread to feed his children without any regard to the circumstances. Its a crime, period, end of discussion. I would welcome any insight that anyone has to offer.
