26. Yet another co-worker story of mine

A couple of weeks ago this fool was bellowing at the top of his lungs about how "it was 'bout damn time" Newsom let everything open up, that he hoped California would never recover, that he didn't live here anyway, yip yip yap, bip bip blap blop bloop.

He's not nearly so chatty lately, as least not around me. I told him to his face that he was a fucking fool back then.

AND YET ABOUT THIRTY PERCENT OF MY CO-WORKERS STILL WON'T WEAR A MASK. Management finally "clarified" policy to emphasize that masks are required in every area; previous emphasis was solely on public and passenger-accessible areas of the airport. Fools were (are) taking their masks off once past security, like they thought (think) TSA stops the 'rona at the checkpoints.

They know enforcement remains lax. They think they can't get the virus because...I dunno, they drink so much alcohol? Rub a Bible on their heads every morning? Are "special" exceptions, like mommy told them?

This county has remained surprisingly "clean" throughout the pandemic. They're doing their level damnedest to change that. I suppose when a few more of us die (there have been a couple) they MIGHT begin to wake the fuck up. Then we can start all over again.
