conspiracy theorists conflated this into "39 kids found in doublewide. Why is this not news?" which was splashed all over Facebook yesterday. Your QAnon at work, I guess.
But look, folks. There were some parental kidnappings in there. There were some runaways. There were undoubtedly some other kinds of trafficking. Sex trafficking isn't the only kind there is, you know. Although on the other hand, some sick parents DO kidnap their kids for that purpose. Witness this horror story which popped up on my news feed today: it was on Channel 10, Knoxville, this morning. A little girl 9 years old was found wandering barefoot and disoriented in a park in Florida. She didn't know where she was but was able to tell police the color of the house she ran away from and two numbers that were part of the address. Officers found her 13 year old sister hiding in a closet. Both girls were taken to the hospital. Their 15 year old brother is still missing. The mother was later arrested. She is suspected of possibly sexually trafficking at least the older girl. She was charged with kidnapping since she had previously lost custody of the children. They have been gone from Memphis for a YEAR. God bless that little girl.
And God bless the U.S. Marshal Service too. They get shit done and don't make a fuss about it. My granddad was a marshal a long time back.
