12. The plane is not that new.

That particular airplane was actually built almost four years ago, as part of the development program. They got final FAA approval in the design in April of 2011, but the design was in development and testing for a long time before that, with multiple test-bed airplanes being built and test flow before the first one was actually FAA approved.
