Fun fact: Her character's name was kind of an inside joke. In the advertising business back then, they would refer to sexy ads, like the Noxzema shave cream ads back then ("Take it off, take it all off" ) as having a high "M Appeal," meaning that it appealed to men. When developing the character on The Avengers, they decided to name her "Emma Peel." Diana Rigg had plenty of "M appeal."
