8. We must ask ourselves why we have had so many statues and monuments to traitors for so many years

If we add the military bases, schools, buildings, and streets named after Confederate traitors, it becomes abundantly clear how very deeply institutional racism is embedded throughout America. Let’s hope we have reached a moment in time where we can take a hard and honest look at ourselves, and take significant action to eliminate the monuments to this poison that infects far too many of us.
