(15,286 posts)As was posted above, Trump loves his campaign rallies, he needs the adulation to feed his insatiable ego. He would not voluntarily give that up. Trump knows SARS2 is dangerous and real. We know that from the audio Woodward released.
Also we know antigen tests don't identify infected people until there's enough virus for them to detect unlike the DNA tests that can detect very small amounts. (I'm sure that's what being done to confirm the Trumps' diagnosis.) She tested negative which is why she was allowed to near Trump, except she was in that 2-3 day window where she was contagious, but didn't have enough virus to register on the antigen test.
If Trump tested positive with the rapid antigen test, then he was likely contagious for 2-3 days before testing positive. Whoever was in close contact with Trump will have to be tested and quarantine. Close contact is a function of time and space and is defined as being closer than 6' for more than 15 minutes. I'm sure there's a good bit of overlap between those in close contact with Hicks and Trump, but Trumps' entire family will probably need to quarantine.
As for the debates, this puts everything kind of up in the air although the candidates could do a virtual town hall. For Steve Scully it wouldn't be much different from hosting on CSPAN.
