, it does give one pause, to say the least.
So, welcome to DU! I myself actually lurked here for years before signing up.
The Prez's debate performance may not have been his most "spirited" hour. But how he actually did was certainly in the eyes of the beholder and a lot of us just don't quite see eye to eye with the punditocracy and those who favor "red meat" who were extremely quick to kick him when he didn't quite breathe fire. In fact, if journalists/anchors, etc. actually did their own jobs, the Prez wouldn't have to debunk Rmoney's lies.
As a proud senior (currently 68), I've been a practicing Dem all my life. The only Republican in my lifetime I may ever even have considered voting for, had I been of voting age at the time, was DDE, who, in addition to being a war hero and a genuinely decent man, was certainly farther to the left than most Dems since.
