Anyone who voted for Trump this time can't claim they were looking for "a businessman, to run the country like a business," or a patriotic American, or a devoted Christian with strong family values. Not after four years of this psychotic nonsense.

They were looking for a monstrous asshole to entertain them by harming Someone Else every day, like a 24/7 ongoing episode of The Apprentice, or a fascist who would stomp on all the people they hated (even if he occasionally stomped on them as well), or a Joker who would spread chaos and burn the world while they watched. They were looking for a fellow Angry Dolt. They know the whole hug-and-kiss-the-flag bit is meant to mock decent people and decency itself. ...You mad, bro?

Get mad. Stay mad. Do not let it slide, because they'll just be back next election. Deplore them, since that is the path they chose. Refuse to share a table with them on Thanksgiving. When they beg you to visit for Christmas, wish them a happy holiday and tell them to get fucked. If they sidle up to you at work and try to soft-peddle their maganazi shit, tell them to eat that shit. When their eyes get all big and watery and they whine "Why are you being so meeeean?", make them regret trying that manipulative stunt. Move out on them if you can, but be prepared to defend yourself when their real selves come out.
