In reply to the discussion: Tagg Romney Says He Wants To ‘Take A Swing’ At Obama [View all]John2
(2,730 posts)I have the belief, everyone has a right to freedom of religion but there are questions I have to ask about the Mormon Religion and one of the founders (Brigham Young). It concerns his scripture beliefs about people of color and their status in the Mormon Belief. How does Mitt Romney see President Obama? I'm also thinking about his remarks about Palestinians when he went to Israel. The Palestinians perceived his remarks as racist. One of the founders of his religion believed people of color were inferior and incapable of leadership. They believed people of color can be citizens but they had to be taken cared of. This falls right in line with the white supremacists in this country.
On a bigger picture, African Americans help built this country, while Mitt Romney's ancestors were seen as outcasts. That is the reason they fled to Utah. It was not just because of polygamy. African Americans have fought in all of Americas' Wars. The Mormons have no history of fighting in America's Wars. In Fact, there is evidence, Mormons fought in Nazi Germany for Hitler, because of his belief in the superiority of the Aryan. There is also evidence after World War II, some Mormons that fought for the Wermacht, immigrated to Utah after Germany fell. These people were taken in by the Mormon Church. I wonder if the history behind this is true?
