as well. Typically you have to have some sort of physical evidence as well. Like they catch the robber with the laptop or purse or whatever.

Where the he said/she said comes in with rape is when the question of 'consent' arises.

With nobody else there, proving 'beyond a reasonable doubt' that someone did not consent ... can be legally tricky. Esp. if you do not quickly report it to the cops and get a rape kit done. Getting some skin of the other person under you nails if you're being raped is pretty smart. Don't know whether that happened here or not.

On the one hand this reality is quite upsetting, but on the other ... it's really not different from how other crimes are treated.
