It’s still a media war. Saying that frames the withdrawal as Republicans too afraid to participate. Then, any reason can be inserted. The best one is, “they may be witnesses or defendants”. Yes, defendants.

Who knows? It could happen. It can’t be ruled out. Therefore, say it out loud Democrats. Fill in the blanks in people’s minds with possibilities.
