49. No, it is not really a 1st Amendment issue. It is a security issue.

Brushing over a demonstrable history of security concerns with the 1st Amendment is obscuring the obvious threat. It doesn't matter how many times they change the names of their groups, they will be there in support of terrorists who tried to violently overthrow our government. Terrorists who are still being tried and sentenced. What is the point of even having a permit process if the petitioners only need to claim the 1st Amendment and get whatever they want? There is a permit process for a reason. As for the NRA they do the same thing with every proposal of gun sanity by painting it over with the 2nd Amendment in the same way.

We should also not be thwarted from doing the right thing for the right reasons just because TFG did the wrong things for the wrong reasons. I wonder how smooth of a process BLM would face if they applied for a permit to march in the same place where Trump had them beaten by the police?

I personally do not care what these right wing thugs have to say, or when or where they dance around in their idiotic get ups to say it. There are no laws against acting like assholes. But the violence against our government is real and documented and all measures need to be taken to insure that another 1/6 or any other style insurrection does not happen again.
