In reply to the discussion: Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp go down [View all]I get NYT's alerts and come to DU, but I never rely on Facebook for news or politics. The political discussions I have tend to be in private groups with like-minded people.
I keep up with friends and family and share jokes and memes. For me, it truly is "social".
