Remember last January, Moscow Mitch refused to turn control of the Senate beacuse Shumer wouldn't agree to leave the filibuster as-is.

He turned control over ONLY after Manchin assured Moscow Mitch that he had Mitch's back.

I don't even think she and Manchin are "plan B", I think they're part of plan A, because unless they change, republicons will get the House and Senate back next year, and the presidency after that.

They'll keep it this time, thanks to the voter suppression laws and gerrymandering.
