The New York Daily News is ideologically to the left of the New York Post (Der Sturmer would be to the left of the (com)Post) and right of the establishment of the New York Times. This is a tabloid that competes at times with the Post for it's sleaze and they both come away looking bad.
Having said that, the NYDN like the Post hates all things Liberal and purport to to represent the working class/middle class of NYC. This couldn't be any further from the truth. They despised Bill deBlasio and Curtis Sliwa was never a serious candidate to begin with. So now, they wish to push Eric Adams away from any hint of Liberal policies by misrepresenting either his policies or the opposition to his policies. This brings us to the aforementioned "threat of rioting" by BLM. First it's not #BLM it's actually an organization named "Black Lives Matter of Greater New York" which according to the website Influence Watch: "

Black Lives Matter of Greater New York is a direct-action protest organization that claims to support the liberation of the black community from racist oppression. The organization is not affiliated with the official Black Lives Matter (BLM) movement and instead operates as an independent path from the national movement. Its leaders have been frequently profiled in the media and have reached out to constituencies as different as supporters of President Donald Trump[1] to chapters of the far-left Democratic Socialists of America."

So in other words, they're a fringe group posing as part of the national group. The NYDN and the Post will use this to simultaneously discredit #BLM while pushing Adams further to the right policy wise, especially where police are concerned.
Be forewarned.
