I will take Speaker Pelosi over Steny Hoyer any day of the week. I am getting up there but I recall back when Steny and Jack Murtha were vying for the majority leader spot, as I recall Speaker Pelosi was in favor of Murtha. He was my rep and I got to meet him in DC he showed our group the House floor and took us into a conference room and listened to every one of us. He promised that the bill we were fighting against would not make it out of committee. Jack was a marine veteran and a staunch opponent of going into Iraq.
Jack had a sting operation run against him, the Republicans feared Jack because of his anti-Iraq war stance.
He died having routine gall bladder surgery, the surgeon accidentally nicked an artery so we have had Steny as the #2 Dem ever since, good man, but no Jack Murtha.

I guess I have prejudices against Steny because I was a Murtha fan and for that I apologize.
