My guess is Poot’s intent was to “accidentally in the heat of battle” overrun the US position with “mercenaries” which I guess further were probably fully trained and equipped Russian soldiers. Maybe he calculated that would drive Americans to demand our troops be taken out of harm’s way. They attacked, and got their clocks cleaned.
