94. I've always thought of the holocaust as eugenics and evil scapegoating

that resulted in genocide. Obviously there was a racial component because hitler wanted to eliminate anyone who wasn't his version of the "perfect" / pure white heterosexual person. However, prior to this controversy, I had never heard antisemitism described as racism, so I had never thought about it in that context. Keep in mind, this topic isn't covered in great detail in school. People are left to form their own conclusions. Your understanding may be common knowledge within specific communities, but how are people outside those communities supposed to know that without discussions (like the one we're having now)?

Also--if I say something incorrect, please correct me, and please don't assume that I'm coming from a hateful place. I respect, admire and am truly grateful for the Jewish community, who overwhelmingly stood up for and fought alongside African Americans during the civil rights movement and after.
