(7,847 posts)68. That's the misconception many have about trucking
That its mostly long haul interstate driving just pulling a trailer when in reality something like 80% of the trucking industry and CDL drivers are in specialized roles, concrete, dump, grocery, beverage, fuel and chemical, milk, water, LTL delivery, etc. All those jobs require a driver that doesnt just drive, they also have other intricate or manual labor tasks to perform on either end of the driving portion.
An automated truck may eventually be able to fill a small portion of the trucking sector but human CDL drivers will still be in demand the rest of our lifetimes.

I agree, the concept is sound, but the implementation is still at least 10-20 years away.

Isn't there city towing? Most cities have their own towing trucks for traffic control.

Call in the military. Confiscate the trucks as abandoned/unwanted property. Sell the trucks.
