68. That's the misconception many have about trucking

That it’s mostly long haul interstate driving just pulling a trailer when in reality something like 80% of the trucking industry and CDL drivers are in specialized roles, concrete, dump, grocery, beverage, fuel and chemical, milk, water, LTL delivery, etc. All those jobs require a driver that doesn’t just drive, they also have other intricate or manual labor tasks to perform on either end of the driving portion.

An automated truck may eventually be able to fill a small portion of the trucking sector but human CDL drivers will still be in demand the rest of our lifetimes.
