"Canada has absolutely ZERO jurisdiction over how we manage our funds here at GiveSendGo," the company wrote on Twitter.


That much is true. While the money is in the US, that site can manage it, bank it, shunt it around internal accounts, make bookkeeping entries, count pennies in their vault, etc.


But ...


The Canadian government can control funds like that when they come across the border. They have the power to seize money that would go to criminal enterprises.
