I think it's much better justice this way - if he holds on, takes care of himself, with a little luck he'll be alive for his first parole hearing. In his sick, sick little mind I'm sure he'll expect to be able to die a free man (which is a pretty compelling feeling)...what goes through his head if he makes it that far and inevitably gets denied, the realization, at the very last, he's done. Oh, thinking about that makes me happy in ways a compassionate human being shouldn't be. Eh well, never claimed to be a nice guy.

Wonder if the judge watched The Dark Knight before the sentencing - "There's a reason why this prison is the worst hell on earth... Hope. Every man who has ventured here over the centuries has looked up to the light and imagined climbing to freedom. So easy... So simple...
