Of around 48%, in addition to those who ignore the off-year elections? He beat Cuccinelli in 2013 with 47.8% (vs Cuccinelli's 45.2%), but there was a third party candidate who siphoned votes from Cuccinelli (and garnered 6.5%).

There was no third party candidate sucking votes from Youngkin, and McAuliffe's percentage was practically the same this time as it was in 2013. It's like not many people were excited by him, and a lot just voted for him holding their noses in both elections, while would-be Democratic voters weren't excited by the bland, white guy (who was also tarred as/by being close to the Clintons) and stayed home in droves (at least this time, as the turnout was down from prior years, IIRC).

I'm not from VA, but I pay attention to what goes on to my neighbor in the north. 😉
