Russia isn't a great place to be tied into the "state achievements" industry with, especially if you don't deliver in the spotlight, but it ain't the old Soviet Union either. She won't end up in a gulag, but it's likely some of her privileges and perquisites are on the line now.

A kid this talented is going to find employment somewhere. She's living in an authoritarian society, but it's a capitalist authoritarian society, not a full-on dictatorship.
