6. The panhandle of Florida is a part of the deep south.

Culturally being there is like being in Alabama, South Carolina or Mississippi.

White southerners are the worst demographic group in the country for Democrats. This is a continued backlash against the Dems because they supported equal rights for all people regardless of race, religion, gender, sexual orientation and class. Dems also support math and science. This goes against traditional white southern culture. And the Democrats have been paying for this in the deep south ever since.
