Some will say, but but he's gathering evidence the right way. Slow and methodical. You just wait!!!

The hard truth is we live in an ever increasingly war between the budding of Fascism and Democracy. And what Democrats continue to fail to see is that being "right" and dotting all the i's and crossing all the t's in a quiet way behind closed doors and even if you do finally come out of the back room to state things like "most likely engaged in criminal behavior" IS NOT GOOD ENOUGH.

We live in a world of viral stories. In a world so dominated by the spectacle of social media and the latest conspiracy theories. Reactions have to be instant and more sensational than the original story. And we don't even have to make anything up to create a sensational headline. That's the difference. We could jail McCarthy over not honoring a subpoena. That would cause a sensation. Cause some discussion in the nation, and asking why shouldn't a lawmaker have to abide by the law. But Democrats are so afraid of the fight that would come. They seem as though they'd rather not get their hands dirty, or look dishevelled on TV.

Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe they'd tell us they were fighting as hard as they can to counter all the misinformation and lies. But what actually matters in this crazy world is perception. And they should be aware that the perception of too many traditional Democratic voters is that the Republicans are winning the war of information/misinformation even if they do it by manufacturing passion and righteous indignation for the cameras. "When they go low, we go high" just will not work anymore. And I'm sad to have to say that. But its true.
