died at age 54.
My husband had a friend who had it and had to wear leg braces and use a cane to get around.
Polio was the boogieman when I was a kid. We were warned constantly not to play in the creek that ran through the yards of our street. I remember teachers going through a checklist of prevention and symptoms. When the polio vaccine became available, it was a Godsend.
The people who won't take a vaccine are the same people who want to interfere in our private lives. They don't want to be told what to do, even if it means good general health, but they want to tell others what to do.

We basically have polio back because the world will not spend the money to give kids in Africa &Asia
