(3,894 posts)28. There are so many splits in this country, so stoked by so many, that to jump on the splits
involving progressive dems vs conservative dems as being the ONE to focus on, confirms your pov is way too limited in scope for any attachment to reality.
There are splits both within and without the religious communities of America,
there are splits politically, primarily Republican vs Democrat, but a few more are gaining ground
there are splits due to economic injustice and inequality
there are still splits due to race and ethnicity or nationality
I agree it would be nice if there were a United States feel to us, but as long as I've lived, it hasn't existed that way. In some areas it's better, in some much worse, but never absent, not since Reagan, which is when I was old enough to be paying some attention.
